Thank you for visiting our page!  Punkin Belle, Buttercup, and I will be walking in the Third Annual Mutt Strut for a very important cause - to raise money and awareness for Suffolk Humane Society.  All of the funds generated will go toward enabling Suffolk Humane's vision of ending euthanasia as a means of population control.  Specifically, Suffolk Humane works to achieve their goal by adoptions, spay/neuter programs, and humane education.  The long-term goals of Suffolk Humane also include constructing a green animal shelter and building a dog park within the city of Suffolk.

I have volunteered a lot with Suffolk Humane Society, and it truly is a worthy organization.  It gives a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves.  Currently, Suffolk Humane works with Suffolk Animal Control to find loving homes for stray or turned over animals.  There are some wonderful animals available within Suffolk Animal Control, and I strongly encourage you to look there first before adopting your next furry family member.  You will be saving a life.

Buttercup was adopted from Suffolk Animal Control two years ago, and she has been a wonderful addition to our family.  Punkin Belle has been a great big sister to her, and has been busy teaching her the ropes.  I am so grateful that we adopted Buttercup, and that my girls get along so well.  We are all walking so that the next animal who comes into a shelter may have a wonderful future, even if their past was not.

We understand that these are difficult financial times for many; however, that also means that many animals are being turned over by their owners.  Any amount that you could give will be greatly appreciated and thoughtfully utilized for the animals.  All donations made are tax-deductible, so if you do make a donation, please remember to save your receipt.

I will also be collecting aluminum cans, which will be cashed in prior to the Mutt Strut.  All proceeds from the cans will be donated to Suffolk Humane Society.  Last year, cans alone generated approximately $100, so every little bit helps.  Crushed and cleaned cans are even better because then I can transport and store larger loads!
