I love the work I have been called to do as the Area Director of Colorado for World Vision. As an eye witness to the needs in Africa and elsewhere, I want to do all I can to bring greater awareness to those needs; while providing opportunities for all I come in contact with to help the precious children and communities who are suffering there at this very moment.

I never thought I would try, or even want, to "go the distance" of 26.2 miles again. Having run several marathons in younger years...I decided long ago to trade in my running shoes for hiking boots.  Now over a decade later, I am being challenged and have started a new routine.  As I seek to find the time to train properly, I covet your prayers!

Every day more than 29,000 children die, mostly due to preventable diseases, starvation and the lack of clean water.I will be motivated by your partnership and by the knowledge that 15 million children have also been orphaned due to AIDS. 6,000 people die every day of the disease.

But this is not a hopeless situation. Not if people like us are willing to stand up and use their One Life to DO somthing about it.

Your contribution will be directed to the poorest of the poor country in Africa, Niger. Your funds will assist in the areas of 1). drilling fresh water wells 2). Micro Finance Loans for the poorest of the poor and 3). Advocacy and Protection for the street children being exploited and abused.  The water portion of the funds we raise will be matched by the Conrad Hilton Foundation. In a land suffering severe drought and famine that is good news!
