I Iove the work I have been called to do as the Area Director of Colorado for World Vision.  As an eye witness to the needs in Africa, I want to do all I can to bring greater awareness to those needs; while providing opportunities for all I come in contact with to help the precious children and communities who are suffering there at this very moment.

I never thought I would try to "go the distance" again.  Having run several marathons in younger years...I decided long ago to trade in my running shoes  for hiking boots.  Now over a decade later, carrying a few extra pounds and challenged to find the time necessary to train...I have started a new routine. I covet your prayers!

I will be motivated by your partnership and by the knowledge that 15 million children have been orphaned due to AIDS. 6,000 people die everyday of the disease.  Every day more than 29,000 children die, mostly due to preventable/treatable diseases, starvation and lack of clean water.

But this is not a hopeless situation. Not if people like us are willing to stand up and use their One Life to Do Something about it.

Your contribution will be directed toward  one of the poorest of the poor countries in Africa, Niger.  Your funds will assist in the areas of 1). drilling fresh water wells 2). Micro Finance Loans for the poorest of the poor and 3). Advocacy and Protection for street children being exploited and abused.  The water portion of the fund we raise will be matched by the Conrad Hilton Foundation.  In a land suffering severe drought and famine that is good news.
