Dear Family and Friends,
AIDS Community Resources (ACR) is a not-for-profit, community-based organization which provides prevention, education, and support services to those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. 100% of the money raised at the AIDS Hike for Life stays in the Mohawk Valley for adolescent prevention programs and client support services.
One of the adolescent prevention programs that benefits from this event is the Teen AIDS Task Force (TATF). This teen-centered peer leadership program focuses on topics such as self-esteem, healthy relationships, drug and alcohol prevention, healthy nutrition, and promotion of sexual health and safety. I'm proud to say that I was a member of TATF while I was in high school and my experience was amazing. As a member of TATF, I learned how to keeep myself and others safe, how to speak publically (especially about difficult topics), and how to advocate for others. This group provided me with the foundation for what has become a life-long passion to educate our community about HIV/AIDS.
ACR does such important work every single day. The funds raised for the AIDS Hike for LIfe make the difference in so many people's lives. Every dollar makes a difference! Every step makes a statement!
With your help, I was able to raise over $800 last year for this event. This year I've set my goal even higher - I hope to raise $1000 for AIDS Community Resources. Please help me reach my goal by making a donation to sponsor me. Just click on the "Sponsor Me Now" link.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.
