Dear Friends & Family of World Concern ~
I am the luckiest mom ever! On Mother’s Day weekend, Saturday, May 7, my kids and I will be involved in a powerful event, World Concern’s FREE THEM 5K Run/Walk. We are working to raise money for World Concern’s child protection programs in Thailand, Cambodia, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Children in these countries (some as young as two years old!) are at risk to be sold and trafficked to predators. These innocent little ones are then used in unimaginable ways. As a mom, that absolutely breaks my heart. But this Mother’s Day, I love that I can do something to help.
I need your help! My team is back again this year - TEAM J, K & H. Our name signifies what we pray we can offer the moms and their children because we are participating: Justice, Kindness and HOPE. The J also happens to represent my son Joe (age 10). The K - my daughter Kaylee (age 12). I’m the H. That’s us on the right, last year.
Each dollar we raise will fund World Concern’s Child Protection work: the Safe Haven program, School on a Mat, vocational training and small business loans. Each project ensures the families will have a brighter, safer and hope-filled future. The goal is to equip the kids and their moms by breaking the grip of poverty and getting them away from the traffickers deception and lies.
