Thank you for visiting my “Tangothon” fundraising page! Yes, I know I am crazy but I want to support the efforts of my east coast Tango friends Diane Castro and Carol Durbin who founded the The Shimmy Club, Inc., by participating in their first annual all night dance marathon (into the wee hours of the morning!) to support the arts and enrich the lives of kids and adults with disabilities...because the arts belong to everyone!

One of The Shimmy Club's innovative programs teaches the art of Argentine tango to blind and visually impaired youth and adults! Through their free classes, events and socials, the organization provides arts and culture education, physical fitness, outreach, entertainment, increased social development and awareness and a growing social community for these underserved populations.

Many of my east coast Tango friends already support the Shimmy Club throughout the year by assisting at tango lessons for blind and visually impaired kids and adults. Since I'm here in Naples, helping them to raise money by dancing my feet off in the marathon on March 27 is the best way I feel I can help!
