Dear Friends and Family,

I have decided to celebrate my 50th birthday by running the Boston Marathon on April 21, 2008.  I am running and fundraising for Team Mass Eye and Ear.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Many of you know my friend Denise Girard, she and I met in the 1st grade. Denise is legally blind having lost a signicant portion of her vision to Ocular Histoplasmosis a rare disease of the retina. She and I have made many trips to Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary for diagnosis and treatment.  It is a blessing to me to raise money for a worthy cause and one which has such personal association.  Denise inspires me with her positive attitude and her determination to live life fully.

 MEEI is a pioneer of research to preserve and restore vision from blinding diseases including macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and others. Extensive research is underway to improve diagnosis and treatment for hearing loss, balance problems and head and neck cancer. We all know someone who has benefited by the research and treatments developed by MEEI.   

 My goal is to raise $3000 for Mass Eye and Ear. My friends and I are out on Saturday mornings doing our long runs and with your financial support I will reach my goal.
