GHM volunteer teams travel on a regular basis bring health care, medical supplies and health education to remote communities in Haiti, Peru, Guatemala, Jamaica and Brazil where the people have little or no access to these resources. Our volunteer teams are personally transformed by this experience, expanding their own world view. In addition, their professional development is enriched from the learning experience "on mission". Volunteers are chosen on the basis of skills and experience and come from all religious and ethnic backgrounds. Our partners in Peru, Haiti, Guatemala, Jamaica and Brazil are also volunteers and take the lead in setting the local mission objectives. The long-term impact of our on-going health education program fulfills the great need of "teaching them to fish".
