Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!

We are the Hendrix family: Chance (dad), Joy (mom) and children Audrey, Anwen, Michael, Timothy and Lucy.  We are very excited to be running our first 5K - the Miller Landing Madness 5K this August. Our goal is to raise public awareness and funds for the projects of Samaritan’s Purse that are providing relief to the Nuba people of Sudan. June 6 marked one year since the Sudanese government began attacking its own people in the Nuba Mountains. The situation has become dire as unprecedented numbers of hungry and weary Nuban people arrive across the border in South Sudan on a daily basis. These people have suffered through more than twenty years of civil war and now they are facing genocide at the hands of their own government's forces. Their needs for survival are overwhelming and international response has been slow in coming due to the threat of renewed war.  Predictions of mass starvation have become reality.  Samaritan’s Purse is responding to the crisis by meeting critical needs of over 120,000 in two refugee camps who have fled the fighting . Samaritan’s Purse assists in providing food, medical care, wells, sanitation, shelters, trauma counseling, and other support.
To the right is a brief video recently produced by Samaritan's Purse of the current conditions of the Nuba people living in refugee camps in South Sudan. I strongly encourage you to watch it.

And now you can help the Nuba people too.
$10 - for a Bible in the refugee's tribal language
$15 - for a week's supply of therapeutic food to help save the life of a severely malnourished infant or child
$45 - for a farm kit with basic tools and seeds to help a hard-working refugee feed his or her family
$100 - for a household kit that includes a weatherproof tarp, cooking kit, water jug, blankets, and mosquito nets to prevent the spread of malaria
$23,000 - for a generator-power well to provide clean water for up to 2,500 people - less than $10 per person

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts. We have specifically chosen to raise funds through SP because we know that every penny, of every dollar raised, will go to its' designated place - the Nuba people.

Our goal is $500 ($100/1K)

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
