Dear Family, Friends and Minute Man Arc Hippotherapy Families:

Several years ago, I learned about a new program that was still in the planning stages for Early Intervention – Hippotherapy. I was very impressed with the effectiveness of hippotherapy in treating developmental delays in very young children and made the initial start-up grant for the hippotherapy program.

Every year since its start-up, I have continued to support the program. I’ve visited Liberty Tree Farm and have seen the extraordinary impact that hippotherapy has on the children in Minute Man Arc’s Early Intervention Program. The therapist uses the movement of the horse to help improve sensory processing and motor skills. On the day I visited, the therapist had a variety of objects for the child to “find” and handle while riding on the pony. The pony Bricker and therapist Monica Wu make a wonderful team for this program.

To date the program has served over a hundred children and has many “graduates.” Although a portion of the cost of each session is covered by insurance and the State, additional funding is required to keep the program running. Please consider joining me in making a contribution to the Hippotherapy program so that more young children may benefit from this unique program.
