What is Huntington's Disease?

Huntington’s Disease (HD) is a hereditary, degenerative brain disorder that causes total mental and physical deterioration.  HD is diagnosed in one of every 10,000 Americans.  Because every child of a parent with HD has a 50% chance of inheriting the gene that will cause HD, over 200,000 Americans are at-risk.

Huntington’s Disease is a family disease, not only because it is passed from one generation to the next, but also because of its impact on every family member socially, emotionally and financially.   HD does not discriminate by gender, race, ethnicity or religion or age. Currently, there is NO effective treatment and NO cure. Visit  www.hdsa-ne.org for more information.

But there is HOPE.  Help make hope happen by joining our team today!
