On Sept 25th, I'll be riding 100 km with the Hope For New York Cycling Team [on the Escape NY ride http://www.nycc.org/eny/], from NYC to NJ and back.
HFNY was founded in 1990 by Rev. Tim Keller of Redeemer with a mission of "Helping People Help People." Last year, HFNY's activities included over 1,716 projects and events with the support of close to 39,175 hours served by volunteers.
Programs include adult recovery, children & youth, and community development in NYC. For fiscal 2008, 86% of each dollar raised support HFNY programs, such as medical and optometric care for the needy, coaching and mentoring for at-risk youths, or providing meals for the homeless.
