Eileen's Polar Plunge Fundraising Page
*2/27/11 UPDATE* It's the day of the plunge, and thanks to all of my AMAZING supporters, I have more than surpassed my goal! But, remember, it's not just about meeting my goal - all of the funds raised for this Polar Plunge go to help Special Olympics Virginia to provide free services to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
*1/25/11 UPDATE* As of today, I have reached my fundraising goal of $1,000. Since I still have a month to go, I have increased my goal to $1,500!
On February 26, I will be participating in my second Polar Plunge to help raise money for Special Olympics Virginia. I may be crazy, but crazy is relative - especially when it's for a good cause!
This will be the 8th Annual Polar Plunge at Tim's Rivershore in Prince William County, and is an effort of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics Virginia programs. I have elected to have all funds raised through this page sent directly to the Area 26 program which covers Northern Virginia (Fairfax and Arlington Counties and the Cities of Fairfax, Falls Church, and Alexandria).
Last year, I had a goal of raising $600, and ended up raising $1,000! So I've upped my goal for this year. I do realize that this past year has been a tough one, and a lot of people don't have much money to give. Please know that every little bit helps - donations as small as $5 can have a great impact and are greatly appreciated. Consider making a pledge to make a difference in the life of individuals with intellectual disabilities. It's not nearly as crazy as jumping into freezing cold water in the middle of winter!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
