ilona frederick's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my CAP Walk fundraising page!
Pictured to the left is me, my sister Alisha, and my sister Amanda. While this photo shows them at 5 and 8 years old, the two peanuts in the hot pink shorts have grown into amazing young women I am proud to call my "baby sisters." Throughout our lives, we have been able to build a strong bond and I know we will always be there for each other.
Had my sisters and I entered foster care, there is a 75% chance that we would have been separated.
According to the National Adoption Information Clearinghouse, 65 to 85 percent of children entering the foster care system have at least one sibling; about 30 percent have four or more. It is often difficult to find families willing to take all of them, and for most of them, that means losing the only significant relationship they have known.
Children Awaiting Parents believes that every child is adoptable and that every effort should be made to keep siblings together. We work in a very small office that watches every penny to be sure that it's being used to help the kids. All of my co-workers (all seven of them!) are passionate people who believe strongly in our mission.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Thank you in advance for your support -- and please feel free to forward this.
