On October 25th, I will be running my first marathon. I wanted to give myself a challenge before I turn 40 next year . However  as I started training I felt I needed an even bigger challenge, so I chose to run for a purpose, for a cause that reaches out to millions of people around the world.

Merlin is an aid agency that provides healthcare services in the worst places in the world. Where there's a disaster or confict zone, Merlin is there: Gaza, Darfur, Congo, Myanmar, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Liberia...the list goes on.

Merlin does 2 things: It provides emergency medical relief when there's been a disaster, whether natural or man made, and then uniquely, Merlin stays long after the disaster to re-build the health care systems of those countries. That's a mammoth task, but look how even a few dollars can make a big difference. 

 

$2 will vaccinate a child against measles

$10 will provide a stethoscope to monitor an unborn child's heartbeat

$150 will feed 5 malnourished children for a month

$200 with provide birthing kits for a community midwife to deliver 10 babies 

I have 50 days of training left, and hope to raise $2500 or more for Merlin.($50 from 50 people in 50 days). I really would appreciate your support. No amount of money is too little (or too much)!
