Help Bring Deworming Medicines to the Amazon in Peru

Infection with intestinal parasitic worms – a result of poor sanitation and hygiene and a lack of clean water in impoverished communities around the world – has particularly devastating consequences for children. These parasites sap vital nutrients from children’s bodies, stunting their physical growth and cognitive development and increasing their vulnerability to disease.

INMED Partnerships for Children’s Healthy Children, Healthy Futures deworming strategy integrates treatment for intestinal parasites with education on health, nutrition, hygiene and sanitation, enabling the children to take action for better health in their families and communities.

How The Money Will Be Spent

Enough deworming medicine to treat 270,000 children and their family members in the Amazon Jungle region of Peru for one year has been generously donated by one of our global partners, but we need your help to get this medicine directly to the most vulnerable communities, and to provide the accompanying health education that will help prevent future infection with parasitic worms
