In 2008 my mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  She was one of the lucky ones who caught it early. She had a lumpectomy and radiation and has been doing well.  Mom decided to have the BRCA test done and found she was BRCA 2 positive.

I had genetic testing done and found out that I was also BRCA 2 positive.  I didn't want to live with the fear that I would get Breast Cancer. I wouldn't wait for it to happen.  I'm opting for a preventative bi-lateral Mastectomy (scheduled for January 2013).

FORCE has been such a wonderful resource and support for me that I want to help give back to my community.  All donations here go to helping create the FORCE Memphis chapter.
