Support Haiti's Largest Urban Garden, the Jaden Tap Tap! Bochika is working with our community partner, SAKALA-Pax Christi Ayiti to further develop this beautiful community garden in Cite Soleil, Haiti and to replicate it in 10 schools in the neighborhood. Please watch this video to get a better understanding of the garden: A New Beginning in Cite Soleil, Haiti: The Jaden Tap Tap from Bochika Organization on Vimeo.
The Jaden Tap Tap community garden has more than 600 tires growing fresh produce, 4000 saplings, and flowers. Thanks to SOIL's EcoSan compost, the garden is growing beautifully- and sustainably! To learn more about the garden, please visit www.bochika.org, to learn more about EcoSanToilets and Compost, visit www.oursoil.org.
Please support this cause and help us "close the loop", improving environment and health for the community of Cite Soleil. And, most importantly, to provide nutritious vegetables to school children while creating economic opportunity for young adults.
We are trying to raise $10,0000 to expand the garden to 10 local schools and community organizations within one year.
Donations can also be made via PayPal with the memo line "Haiti" and we will update the First Giving Total manually.
To view photos of the garden, check out Bochika's Picasa and SOIL's Fllikr Albums.
