Lagoon Valley Trail Run and Road Race, for TSC Vacaville,  California

Isabelita Ocampo's Fundraising Page

Dear Family and Friends,

Hello!!  I am here once again asking donation for Marybelle’s TSC Walkathon: the Lagoon Valley Trail Run & Road Race, for TSC in Vacaville on Sept 25, 2010.

I can’t imagine how time flies so fast that Marybelle is turning 17 years old on August 13 and now on her senior year at Hogan High School Special Ed in Vallejo, CA.  Since, after her first brain surgery in 2000, then her next four brain surgeries in 2007, her three Laser facial surgeries and combination of all seizure medications available, her seizures were not controlled and lately had severe reactions with the medicines that made the doctor’s decision to put her only on one medication.  As I have said on my letter last year 2009, the neurologist gave us 3 options to decide and we tried the 3rd option which is taking the last 2 new seizure medications but unfortunately did not work. So, we finally decided to go to the 2nd option which is implanting a VNS - Vagus Nerve Stimulation device (like a pacemaker) in her chest and an electrode in her brain which hopefully will help stop the seizure and reduced her medication.  Let’s hope and pray that this device work and hopefully seizure-free with less or no medication.

This is the 5th Year Marybelle will be walking for all your donation, for the benefit of the TSC Clinic at Children’s Hospital Oakland to be able to keep it open.  We need these knowledgeable and experience neurologist, nurses, neurosurgeon and staff who know about Tuberous Sclerosis which mostly affect kids at younger age.

The 10K Trail, 5K Road, 2 Mile Walk, ¼ & ½ Mile Kids Walk, Silent Auction, Kids Corner and Clown, Food, Music and more will be held at Lagoon Valley Park, 4600 Pena Adobe Rd., Vacaville CA at 8:45 AM.  Hope you can join us to walk, run, fundraise and relax outside in honor of those affected by Tuberous Sclerosis Complex.

To make a contribution:

  • ONLINE: here via secure credit card payment.
  • MAIL IN:  send your check no later than September 22, 2010 payable to: Children’s Hospital Oakland – (note “TSC clinic” in memo) to our address:                                          The Ocampo's, 864 So. Regatta Dr Vallejo, CA 94591
