Hello Again Everyone,

It's time for our 4th annual plunge into Long Island Sound. You'll notice Red's conspicuous absence in our photo as he used some lame health excuse to get out of jumping into the freezing waters off Jennings Beach. This year will be different as the three of us will attempt to retain our crown as fundraising champs.

Your donation this year is more important than ever as the Great Recession's toll on the underserved children and families of Bridgeport continues unabated. With your support however, the Burroughs Community Center provides essential services to change the lives of thousands each year and our partnership with Wakeman's Boys & Girls Club in the construction of the new Smilow Burroughs Clubhouse gets more exciting each day.

At Burroughs a donation of:

-$25 would provide a backpack for a 5th grade Tutoring member

-$50 would purchase notebooks and pencils for the Quick Start Language Center

-$100 would buy cooking supplies for one week of the Kids in the Kitchen program

-$250 would provide basketballs, dodge balls and jump ropes for After School outdoor recreation

-$500 would provide art supplies for the Summer program

-$1,000 would purchase a laptop to complete hundreds of tax returns during the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program
