2011 Western MA Walk for Epilepsy

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for EPILEPSY FOUNDATION MASSACHUSETTS RHODE ISLAND NEW HAMPSHIRE & MAINE!

It's hard to believe that this is our third annual walk! Just over two years ago, after a major seizure, I decided to try to raise funding, awareness and support for people living with epilepsy. As you know, I have been living with epilepsy since I was five years old. Since becoming actively involved with the Epilepsy Foundation of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine, I have learned so much. I've also realized that I can help to make a difference. In our first two walks, we raised nearly $30,000. My goal is to continue to raise funding so that we can bring services, support and education to Western Massachusetts individuals and families who are dealing with epilepsy. I have met so many people who are affected by this condition. I know that they want to find a cure as much as I do. We are making strides, but a life without seizures will only exist for me, and others like me, if we continue to spread the word and raise funding. The photo to the right shows me with my friends, Carly and Chandler, whom I met at Kids Speak Up in Washington, DC, at a conference for kids living with epilepsy. We were able to rally our Congressmen and Senators for further funding for research and education. I would like to imagine a day without seizures in my lifetime. Thank you for helping me to envision that possiblity.
