Welcome to my fundraising page for the Fourth Annual Western Mass Walk for the Epilepsy Foundation of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine! A lot has happened in my life since planning our first walk in 2009. Through the Epilepsy Foundation, I have had an opportunity to represent our chapter at the Youth Leadership Conference in Dallas, TX, this past February, testify at the Statehouse in Boston for a bill regarding medication-switching, and volunteered at Camp Weekantu, a camp for kids with epilepsy, this August. Through our walks and fundraising efforts throughout the past three years,we have raised over $43,000 toward epilepsy research, support programs, education and awareness, but we need to continue our efforts. Although strides are being made in treatments, there is still no cure. As has always been my goal, I hope to see a cure for seizure disorders in my lifetime. My family and I are grateful to everyone who has supported our efforts over the past three years - we hope that you will support us again this year, too! Please join us on Saturday, September 15th, at Farnham's Crossing in Cheshire, Massachusetts, for a morning of food, fun, entertainment and a 3-mile walk on the beautiful Ashuwillticook Rail Trail. If you can't be there, please consider making a donation. Thank you - your contribution will make a difference in the lives of so many!
Please take a moment to watch the video at right. My sister, Rachel, a journalism major at UMass/Amherst, created it as a project for one of her classes. It helps to further share my story. Thank you.
