On Sunday, October 23rd, the Hoover Heroes Team will be taking part in the 16th Annual Walk & Candlelight Vigil sponsored by the Melrose Alliance Against Violence. The purpose of this walk is to honor victims of domestic violence and raise awareness and funds for MAAV's prevention programs.

MAAV works to break the cycle of domestic violence through community awareness, resources & support for victims, training for professionals, and education & prevention programs for youth. Prevention programs include Bullying Prevention trainings for students, staff and parents, a Community Mentoring Program, 8th Grade Healthy Relationships Program, and Student Action Board of 17 high school peer leaders.

There is no registration fee to walk, but donations are welcome. All of the donations received at the walk will benefit the Melrose Alliance Against Violence (MAAV).
