I am running in the Rock 'n' Roll half marathon in June and I need your help. I am running to help raise money and awareness to find a cure for Huntington's disease.
Huntington's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder that essentially causes brain cells to die. Eventually a person with HD becomes completely dependent upon others. Children of a parent with HD have a 50% chance of inheriting the disease. Currently there is no cure for this devastating illness.
       My girlfriend, Hayley, and I have been together for over seven years. Unfortunately, her mother, Ramona, tested positive for HD in 1999. I have witnessed first hand the crippling side effects of this disease. As you can imagine life is really hard for Ramona and the impact on her family is absolutely devastating. After seeing all the things that Bill Johnston does for the HD community and for the prosperity of his beloved wife, I have gained an immense appreciation for love and what it means to care for someone. I love Hayley with all my heart and I am willing to do what ever it takes to help her through these tough times.
       I am asking for your support. This is something that we can not do alone and any help we can get means the world to us.
