The Dietrichson Family's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page for the 4th Annual
Walk for Autism-Virginia on October 25, 2008!
We have 4 children, Jessica, Eric, Gabriel and Susannah. As many of you know, our 3 oldest, Jessica, Eric & Gabe, have autism. Autism is complex life long disorder which can affect an individual's behavior, basic social skills, sensory integration, gross & fine motor development, speech & communication, cognition, and education. Autistic children have trouble dealing with many basic daily events & routines.
There are many treatments and therapies for autism, such as speech, occupational & physical therapy, and the very important behavior therapies like ABA & RDI (Relationship Development Intervention) just to name a few. Many of these treatments are not covered by insurance. These and other therapies can make a tremendous difference in their lives and help them cope with daily life, form relationships, learn to overcome or adapt in areas of struggle, help them become happier, adapt to their surroundings and set them on the path towards independence as adults.
Money raised by the Walk for Autism-VA goes to provide mini-grants to families affected by autism. These mini-grants help make these crucial therapies possible for these children.
Walk for Autism-VA is a program of Autism Society of America-No. Va. chapter. ASA-NV is a non-profit organization that provides information and support to individuals with autism and their families in the No. Va. area. Learn more about Walk for Autism-VA at www.walkforautismva.org.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. Many thanks for your support.
God Bless,
The Dietrichson Family
