Help us meet our goal for the Walk for Autism-VA!
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page for
Walk for Autism-Virginia on October 7, 2006!
We have 4 children, Jessica, Eric, Gabriel and Susannah. As many of you know, 3 of our children, Jessica, Eric & Gabe, have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Autism is complex life long disorder which can affect an individual's behavior, basic social skills, sensory integration, gross & fine motor development, speech & communication, cognition, and education. Autistic children have trouble dealing with many basic daily events & routines
Behavior therapies such as ABA & RDI can make a tremendous difference in their lives and help them learn to cope with daily life and learn to overcome or adapt in areas of struggle, help them become happier, adapt to their surroundings and their world and set them on the path towards independence as adults. Money raised by the Walk for Autism-VA goes to provides scholarships to families of autistic children to help defer the costs of these therapies.
Why Scholarships? Unfortunately, most insurance companies do not cover therapies for Autism. As a result, parents pay thousands of dollars for these therapies or simply their children go without because of the costs.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. Many thanks for your support.
God Bless,
The Dietrichson Family
Doug, Jacque, Jessica, Eric, Gabe & Susannah
