We have organized Team Superman in honor of our son Matthew, who in 2005 at age 13 was diagnosed with a mixed cell germ cell tumor, a rare, deadly pediatric brain tumor.
Brain tumors are now the leading cause of cancer death in children under age 15 and the most deadly disease killer of children. Additional funding for pediatric brain tumor research is desperately needed.
The goal of Team Superman is to raise funds for pediatric germ cell tumor research. Federal money to support children's cancer research has been drastically cut in recent years, and rare tumors like Matthew’s attract virtually no funding. For the medical team treatment Matthew, one of the greatest challenges was lack of data.
Thank you for your support!
Thank you to everyone who has already made a donation to Team Superman. Your generosity will enable us to fund a germ cell tumor study that will help advance knowledge and understanding about this deadly disease.
A special thank you to everyone who walked with us in the Childhood Brain Tumor Foundation (CBTF) "Stride for Life" 5K on September 30. Team Superman had a strong showing of over 150 participants. It was a wonderful day, and we thank all of you who came out to celebrate with us.
It's not too late to make a donation...
