Alain's 2007 Boston Marathon Charity Page
Please join over one million spectators as they cheer on more than 20,000 runners at the 111th running of the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 16th 2007.
I am running the 2007 Boston Marathon, my third time running Boston, in support of the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
The V Foundation is dedicated to saving lives by finding a cure for cancer. Most of our lives have been changed by this awful disease in some way; cancer took Jacques Ferry, my father, in 1990 and then it took Alaric Gayfer, one of my closest friends, in 2004. The V Foundation seeks to make a difference by generating broad-based support for cancer research and by creating an urgent awareness among all Americans of the importance of the war against cancer. Please consider a tax-deductible donation through the link below; using your credit card is fast, easy and totally secure.
Thanks so much for your support -- and please remember to forward this to anyone else who can help us save lives!

Alain... a runner? Just in case you want to know how I got involved in the Boston Marathon, here's something I wrote after my first marathon.
Amazing. Epic. Addictive. Running the Boston Marathon is an experience that mere words can hardly describe. I was lucky enough to run Boston in 2005; it was my first marathon ever and quite humbling. But I finished.
You see... I'm not a runner, I'm a cyclist. When a hand injury forced me out of bicycle racing last year, I (single-handedly!) laced up the running shoes. First a 5k, then a 4 miler... and then Boston. Well, I learned first hand (I'm stickin' w/ the hand theme!) why they call it Heartbreak Hill. But despite the cramps and blisters, this non-runner was instantly hooked to the magic that is the Boston Marathon. The kids, the cheers, the sea of runners - that's what makes the 26.2 miles from Hopkinton to Boston so incredibly fun.
