JAMES Harvey's Fundraising Page
Hello Family & Friends,
Last January I was sitting in church listening to and watching footage of the life changing impact Team World Vision had on the poverty stricken people of Africa. It made me truly appreciate the simple things we have that are often taken for granted; like clean water. I was so inspired by the commitment and dedication of these runners that I decide to celebrate my 50th birthday year by giving back to people who are desperately in need. On October 11th I’m taking part in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, to raise money for Team World Vision. I have been training since January 2009 to run 26.2 miles. The last several weeks have been a real challenge for me. I have had several injuries, and also have been battling a severe cold that doesn’t want to relinquish its hold on me. This Saturday I am scheduled to run 8 miles with my teammates. To date, I have logged over 500 miles and am tapering down this next week. Supposed to concentrate on eating and sleeping in preparation for the "Big Run" next Sunday Oct 11th
To be honest, the fundraising part is probably as hard for me as the training. In these difficult times I understand, and know first hand, the many hardships some of you are facing. If you are able, any donation amount would be very much appreciated. You can donate on line, with a credit card, by visiting my Firstgiving page: http://www.firstgiving.com/jamesharvey . All donations are secure and sent directly to Team World Vision by Firstgiving, who will email you a printable record of your donation. If some of you would rather donate using a check or with cash, please let me know and I will get a form to you on how to do this. If you are unable to support me financially, your positive thoughts, prayers, and words of encouragement are also very much needed and appreciated!!
If you could please send my page to anyone who might like to donate that would be great!
Thank you so much,
Sincerely,
Jim Harvey
