James Lajoie's Fundraising Page
Dear Friends and Family,
To show you how committed I am to raising money for the incredibly important Melanoma Foundation of New England, and to try to raise as much money as possible, I've decided to challenge myself not just by running one marathon, but this time, two marathons within three weeks of each other. That's right, I'm running both the Los Angeles Marathon on March 20 and the Boston Marathon on April 18, but I can't do it without your help!
I am running both marathons in support of the Melanoma Foundation of New England as a member of their Running for Cover Boston Team. I am honored to be running with them and especially in honor of Andrew Marsh, who fought an incredibly brave battle with melanoma, and whose family continues to inspire me with their love and devotion to keeping Andy's spirit and strong will alive.
I would be so grateful if you would consider supporting me in my goal of raising $4,000 for MFNE. I must raise a minimum of $3,250, but I am determined to raise more than that. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our team's fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Thank you again so much!
Peace and love,
James Lajoie
3/21/2011 UPDATE:
The LA Marathon was a complete success! Despite having to run 3 miles on the LA freeway just to get to the starting line at Dodger Stadium on time (major traffic backup!), and despite adverse weather conditions (torrential rain and thunder, steady rain and wind throughout the course), I was able to complete it in 3:28:16. It was an incredible experience from start to finish and I could not have done it without your love and support. Thanks to all of you, I feel that much more ready to take on Boston in April.
