Glencoe Heritage Trust

Thank you for visiting the Glencoe Heritage Trust...
Campbell U.S. fundraising page!

You may have seen our booth at the Seattle Highland Games. In the spirit of brother and sisterhood Macdonalds, Campbells and others are raising money to preserve the rivers, hills and monuments of Glencoe for Clan Donald. All funds go through Clan Donald Foundation directly to the Glencoe Heritage Trust.

Why raise funds for Glencoe, particularly as a Campbell? Because it is the right thing to do! There are many, many reasons but the main reason is to put aside the years of fingerpointing and jokes between Macdonalds and Campbells by helping out friends in need to preserving history that we all agree we don't want to have happen again.

Will you join us?

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support The Trust from here in the States. When you send checks directly to the Trust, the banks take out a hefty fee of almost 40%. Yikes! The Clan Donald Foundation here in the U.S. has agreed to help us get the money to the Trust. All donations given through Firstgiving will go to the Foundation and sent straight to Glencoe in Pounds Sterling so there are no charges. The added benefit to us is it will go through a U.S. registered charity it becomes a tax write off. We, united, plan to put plaque up at the memorial site saying, "We are sorry" and "the events that happened at Glencoe were wrong." Powerful words that haven't been heard in 311 years. Thanks to those of you who gave at the games. I am trying to figure out how to list you here on the page below... you dollars are counted though.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to everyone who you think might want to donate too! Welcome to team Donald/Campbell.
