I'm running this race in memory of my mother, Lorraine, who passed 12 years ago from breast cancer.  With this week being Hereditary Breast & Ovarian Cancer Week, I wanted to honor my Mom by racing and rasing funds for a wonderful organization dedicated to raising awareness of these diseases and one that has been very instrumental in my battle with them.

FORCE (Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered) is the only national nonprofit organization devoted to hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. Its mission includes support, education, advocacy, awareness, and research specific to hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. The programs serve anyone with a BRCA mutation or a family history of cancer.

It's been fulfilling to work with dedicated and committed individuals doing such important work.
