Jane Kneece's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting our Special Olympics South Carolina Personal Fundraising Page. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Greetings family, friends and neighbors.
It’s that time of year again, the 2011 Freezin’ for a Reason Polar Plunge, and being the proud parent of a special needs daughter who has participated in the Special Olympics for many years, I have decided to take the plunge again this year. This year, we would like to dedicate the plunge to Officer Karney, and hopefully raise enough money to reach our goal.
On February 5th, our team will once again plunge into the chilly waters at Springmaid Pier to honor our pledges. Obviously, this is not the ideal time to go swimming in the Atlantic Ocean; however it is for a good cause, therefore the Freezin’ for a Reason theme. This is where we need your help. Our team will be trying very hard to raise enough money to reach our target goal. Last year our team raised over $2000.00, and we hope to surpass that amount this year. We are very hopeful that you will consider a small donation to help us help these very special people. Special Olympics is a wonderful cause and very near and dear to my heart.
As a mother of a special needs daughter who has Down’s syndrome, I have been involved with Special Olympics for many, many years. I have seen the obvious rewards of these competitions where every one is a winner not only in the athletic successes but also in the friendships that have been formed, and it is with great honor to have the opportunity to help raise awareness of the needs of our challenged population. In addition, as someone who works with special needs children at Socastee High, my co-workers/teammates and I want to see the same opportunities afforded to our students that my daughter benefited from.
Thanking you in advance,
Jane K., Ann B., Steve and Mary S., Debbie H.
