Happy is a JHS double-alum! We are told he had two families before us, and when he selected us to be #3, they said he was probably 6 or 7 years old, but no one knew for sure. It is impossible to convey how much he has brought to our family, and for that, I am eternally grateful to the Jacksonville Humane Society.
The Jacksonville Humane Society has kicked off its second annual Trail of Tails: Pet Walk & Festival in an effort to raise much needed funds to continue their life-changing work. I hope you will support me as I walk to help JHS and all the furry-faced companions in their care, like Happy once was.
JHS staff and hundreds of volunteers work tirelessly serving as a resource to the community on all companion-animal related issues including, promoting the benefits of spaying and neutering, educating the community about the humane treatment of animals and finding loving homes for each animal that comes to JHS in need of a forever family.
Some of the costs associated with caring for JHS animals:
$10 Covers the cost of heartworm testing for one dog
$25 Covers the initial medical exam on one animal entering the facility
$35 Covers the cost of one spay/neuter
$50 Covers the cost to run blood work on one sick animal
$100 Covers the cost to surgically repair one orthopedic injury
$250 Covers the cost for heartworm treatment for one large dog
$500 Covers the complete care of one animal for an extended stay
The animals at JHS are supported in large part by the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations – people like you. The Jacksonville Humane Society receives no state or federal funding and is not a United Way Agency.
With your help today, the Jacksonville Humane Society can continue to adopt out one-of-a-kind pets to one-of-a-kind homes.
The Jacksonville Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) organization that has served Jacksonville since 1885. All donations to the Jacksonville Humane Society are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
On behalf of all the furry faces at JHS, thank you for your support!
