My wonderful brother-in-law, Richard Ashford, was diagnosed with HD about four years ago. Huntington's Disease is a devastating, hereditary, degenerative brain disorder for which there is, at present, no effective treatment or cure. HD slowly diminishes the affected individual's ability to walk, talk and reason.

 

This is the second year that my family will join Walk for Hope with Team Richard.  I'm sure every walker in this event has a poignant story to share. I walk for Richard, with his easy-going personality, wry sense of humor and strong love of family. Hopefully the steps of participants will bring attention, understanding and increased funding to this little-known disease. I realize times are tough and that worthy causes abound. A donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated.
