Every year my extended family and I support the Walk for Hope in honor of my brother-in-law Richard, who was diagnosed with Huntington's Disease several years ago.

HD is a hereditary progressive neurodegenerative disorder which results in the eventual loss of cognitive and motor functions. Although Richard faces many challenges as this disease progresses, his easy-going nature and wry sense of humor shine through.

Funds raised from the walk go directly to The Huntington's Society which funds research and gives assistance to families living with HD.This organization has been invaluable to Carol, Richard and their two sons. 

My hope is that the small steps of many will lead to effective treatment and ideally a cure. A donation in any amount to the Walk for Hope would be greatly appreciated!
