I met my late husband Ken while he was stationed in England with the United States Air Force. I was won over by his kind nature, great sense of humour and Tom Cruise looks. We married and started a family almost immediately. But shortly after the death of our first child Ken's personality seemed to change, and he became increasingly moody and agitated. It wasn't until later that he was diagnosed with Huntingtons Disease and subsequently discharged from the Air Force when he was 29. Kenny died of this devastating disease sixteen years later in 2004 at the age of 45. Our daughter, Katie was diagnosed with HD at 19 years of age and I have become the caregiver for her and her two children, Haley aged 8 and Richard aged 7.
