Dear Friend,

On September 26 I will be participating in Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build Work Day program. Along with other Habitat volunteers, I will be helping to build a modest home for a hard-working, low-income family in our region.

Decent, affordable housing is scarce in Somerset and Hunterdon counties, forcing many low-income families to live in overcrowded, unsafe conditions. The Women Build program challenges women to build a better future for the children of central New Jersey by addressing the problem of substandard housing. By participating in Women Build, I will be giving other women and their families a “hand up” by helping them to build a home of their own.  These families BUY their homes and pay taxes- we just help by making it more affordable.  Remember that your donation is tax deductable.

With your help, I hope to make a real difference in the lives of a local family. My personal goal is $2,500.The Women Build Team’s goal is $100,000. Any pledge amount you can offer will be greatly appreciated!  No amount is too small (or too large!).  Please send this on to anyone you think might help me in reaching my goal.
