My name is Maggie and I'm a 3 year old Pitbull Mix. I've had a pretty tough life on the streets but have been able to take good care of myself until now. I was hit by a car last Friday and the driver didn't even stop to see if I was ok :( I was able to pull myself to the side of the street and out of traffic only to face an even worse horror. 2 teenage boys thought it would be fun to beat me with a wooden bat. They were beating me so much, i was unable to move to protect and defend myself. I'm not sure why they would do this to me? I wasn't doing anything to bother them. I was already injured from the car that had hit me. Needless to say, they hit me enough to cause numerous broken bones and injuries. Luckily, the torture stopped when a Good Samaritan chased the abusers away and brought me to a neighbor for help.
I'm now at the hospital with multiple pelvic fractures, two fractured ribs, numerous lacerations and possible nerve damage in my leg. I can only walk with the support of a sling and I'm on medication for the pain. Time will tell how much damage in permanent. But even with all my injuries and all of the cruelty I have endured, I'm still a happy girl and love everyone that has helped take care of me! They have all been so kind, I can't thank them enough!
I'm not sure how long I'll be at the hospital but I know that I will need help paying for all my medical expenses.
