Yes...it is that time again. It has now been 7 years since my battle with scleroderma began. Thanks to many good doctors and support from my family and friends, I continue my personal fight against the potentially devastating effects of scleroderma. As a support group leader for the San Francisco area, and a board member of the Northern California Chapter of the Scleroderma Foundation, I continue to work for those like me who are facing a life changing diagnosis with no known cure.
There is good quality research happening but it takes lots of money to fund this research. Scleroderma affects a small number (estimated at about 300,000 in the US) compared to the more well known autoimmune diseases like Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus. It is difficult to get the attention and financing we need to identify the cause and find the cure for scleroderma.
I invite you to join my family and I for the walk and to send out your own firstgiving page to your friends and family. If you are unable to join me, I appreciate any donation to this worthy cause. It is a difficult time to give money right now, and I understand that, but every dollar counts.
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
