Cpl. Jared Shoemaker Memorial Walk

"If i have sent you this email, we have met either through the military, through police work, through SWAT, through my daughter Samye and school or volleyball, or just met.  I am sending you this because I have the opportunity to help honor a true hero.  Not a sports figure that is paid a lot of money, not a music star nor a Hollywood star, but a true hero.  A Volunteer.  A person who swore an oath and allegiance to our country and our people, to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic, as a member of the United States Marine Corps.  Who gave that oath again to include “With my life if need be” as a police officer for the City of Tulsa, OK.  This hero’s name is Jared Shoemaker, Corporal USMC.  He was Killed in Action on 4 Sep 2006 by an improvised explosive device during Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq. I want to also give you the opportunity to help in honoring him also.

On 10-12 May 2010, several friends of mine and I will be walking from Tulsa, OK to Stillwater, OK (69 miles with a ruck sack [back pack] over three days) to raise money for the Oklahoma Special Olympics in the name of Cpl. Jared Shoemaker.  None of us could think of a better organization or a better group of kids to do this for. I would like for you all to donate and to send this email to everyone on your list.
Thank you so much for giving me your time in this.  J.C. (Jim) Comstock"
