SO, I was offered $100 and asked to do something for others with it.**

The "what" of it took some thinking and praying, but it eventually focused on things that started with W -- widows, water, the WorldWide Web.

The widow word is obvious, since I am one, but widows have been on my mind a lot lately.  I have been thinking about how widows (and those who love them) could help widows, and women in general, in the world's less developed countries.  Conflict, poverty and disease make widows of millions of women each year.  How can those of us with "more" help those who have "less"?

Then there is water.  Only about 1 in 8 people worldwide have access to safe water.  Anyone reading this, you are the 1 in 8, the ones with "more."  What about the other 7, the ones with "less"?

This is where the Web comes in.  This is where widows and water came together for me through www.water.org.  Water.org works to provide safe water and sanitation in communities in Africa, South Asia and Central America.  Water.org also has made the connection between water and women.  Millions of women lack the opportunity to realize their potential because they spend their days in the simple yet arduous task of providing water for their families.

SO...back to the $100.  My goal is to leverage that $100 through contributions from family and friends to provide water for life for 100 women.  It only takes $25 to make that kind of difference in one person's life.
