ThinkCure! Fundraising
What: I am running the L.A. Marathon to raise funds for ThinkCure! (Please see left for a brief description).
When: March 21, 2010 Sunday
Where: From the Stadium to the Sea, so it starts at Dodger Stadium and finishes in Santa Monica…yikes!!!
Why: I am running in honor of my brave nephew Jaylon (9yrs old). He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia back in Dec ’08 and is currently in remission. He's had a very challenging year with hospital stays, chemo, bone marrow biopsies, spinal taps, tons of blood work, missing school, missing most of baseball season, etc. Still he remains positive and courageous which is why I am so proud of him. Jay is our family’s “HERO.”
Why ThinkCure!? ThinkCure! provides funding for research at City of Hope, the hospital where Jay goes for treatment. Both organizations have helped lessen the pain for a child going through cancer. City of Hope helped Jay into remission quickly, while ThinkCure! took his mind off cancer through their kindness and generosity. A few Dodger players (Kemp & Young) came to visit at the hospital and Jay was later invited to a few home games. I am grateful for all the support he received and want to lend my hand in finding a cure for cancer.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for ThinkCure!
