Carolan - Graf Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!
Our dad, Jack Carolan, suffered a massive stroke in August of 1993. For the past 16 years he has been unable to walk, speak or use the right side of his body. Our mom, Colleen Carolan, has been his full-time caregiver ever since. We are running the 2009 NYC Marathon in honor of our parents. Working together to overcome the physical limitations, emotional repercussions and day-to-day challenges of our dad's illness, they have taught us so much about strength, patience, determination and love. We will take these lessons with us on our 26.2 mile journey on November 1st, knowing that the challenge we have set before us is nothing compared to the challenges they face each day.
Please join our efforts by supporting to the National Stroke Association. Their goal to improve the quality of stroke patient care has a direct impact on survivors like our dad. And their objective to educate the public about stroke prevention and symptom recognition strives to spare other families the terrible consequences of this deadly illness.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
With gratitude,
Christine Carolan and Jeannine Graf
