 Greyhound rescue means an awful lot to me, and the Polar Bear means a lot to to American Greyhound and our rescue efforts.  Last years swim made the difference for approximately 30 hounds by covering the excess costs(those not covered by the adoption fee). And, we are hoping to make an even greater impact this year.

   Sure, it is terribly cold.  And I'm sure we'd much rather be laying in bed on New Years Day, sleeping off what we did the night before.  But, I can't think of any place I'd rather be than lake Michigan on January 1st.

  As we have moved forward from the Dairyland Greyhound park closing, and take more and more hounds from Florida and Alabama, we are finding our veterinary cost are going ever higher.  But, no dog is turned away for health issues.  We just work harder and harder to make sure we are able to cover the costs.
