th Anniversary of Special Olympics that was started right here in Chicago. I will join Some Unbelievable Plungers Who Enter Repeatedly (40 plungers for the 40th Anniversary) once an hour every hour for 24 hours in Lake Michigan on Feb. 22-23, 2008. Plunging 24 times in 24 hours!
Yes, I'm doing it again! You might remember I participated in the first two SUPER Plunges in 2006 and 2007.
I hope all of you will help me with my new goal for this event - to raise $2,500 for the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois in one month! Yes, I am talking 30 days!
You can also help me with a challenge I have with my wife Michele who is also taking the SUPER Plunge for the third time. She has challenged me to see who can raise the most money (I have the first two years) for the SUPER Plunge! So please give generously to help me beat her!
Again this year, for everyone who donates to me my friends at BWM Global will match $.25 of every dollar I raise. So please be generous with you donations! I want to give a big thank you to Brad and his staff at BWM Global for this great match!
People often ask me why I do the SUPER Plunge. Plunging into the icy waters of Lake Michigan 24 times in 24 hours in February - you must be CRAZY! Want to see how crazy this event is check out the SUPER Plunge video one of the SUPER Plungers made:

They say you raise money each day for this great organization, so why do this event?
I do this for the athletes and future athletes like Cole (see video)!

This is my personal commitment to the athletes. Not my job, but my commitment! I believe in this cause and have the pleasure to witness the impact Special Olympics Illinois (SO ILL) has on the athletes who participate everyday! Everything I do each day is to support the great athletes and their families who benefit from the programs of SO ILL. Because of crazy fundraisers like the SUPER Plunge the athletes train and compete free of charge year-round!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Illinois. Your donation will help provide athletes with intellectual disabilities the chance to participate in sports training and competition.
For every business that donates $100 or more to my effort, I will take the plunge wearing an article of clothing bearing your company name or logo.
If you would prefer to write a check for your donation please send your check to me at: Jeff Henson, Special Olympics Illinois, 605 E Willow, Normal IL 61761 Please make checks payable to: Special Olympics Illinois.
Many thanks for your support -- and don’t forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Thanks, Jeff
