Officer Jeff Romanoff's Quest for a Cure
When I decided to become a police officer, my family anticipated that my toughest battles would be served on the streets in my desire to protect others. This was until I was diagnosed with a rare cancer-causing genetic disordered called, von Hippel-Lindau (VHL), which impacts a number of key organs including the eyes, ears, kidneys, pancreas, brain, and stem cell.
Though my battle with VHL has presented a number of obstacles including multiple life-saving surgeries and a kidney transplant, I am fortunate that I am well enough to return to patrol as well as maintain my personal commitments as husband and father.
While there is no known cure for VHL, my family and I are committed to raising awareness and funds in support of research centered on finding a cure.
Please help us with this important venture by supporting the VHL Family Alliance. Thanks to a Challenge Grant your donation will be matched dollar for dollar. Together we can find a cure!
THANKS TO A GENEROUS BENEFACTOR, THE FIRST $10,000 RAISED TOWARDS QUEST FOR THE CURE WILL BE MATCHED DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR!
