Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for Neurofibromatosis Midwest!

I have created this page to help raise awareness about Neurofibromatosis Type II (NF2 for short) and to help fund and support NF2 research.

As most of you know, I was diagnosed with NF2 in September 2008.
At that time, I was told that I have multiple meningiomas, a right vestibular schwannoma, a medullary brainstem tumor and a cervical cord tumor.

I chose to take a “watchful” approach and had MRI’s every 3-4 months.
Every MRI I had brought on a roller coaster of feelings due to the threat of growth to my existing tumors and the development of new tumors.

On January 29, 2010, after being as conservative with surgical treatment as I could, I underwent a cervical laminectomy for resection of my cervical cord tumor.

Just 2 short years later, I got the news that this tumor had grown back, and once again, needs to be removed.  On March 30, 2012, I had another surgery.  The surgery went well with 100% resection!

On Saturday, May 19, 2012, Andy, Cameron, Collin and I will be participating in the Great Steps for NF 2012 walk at Token Creek County Park in DeForest.  This will be our second year participating!  Last year we raised $1017.86!  Please help us exceed that amount this year!!
