Hello Family, Friends and Co-Workers,
The time of year is here again to run the 2007 Boston Marathon and, more importantly, to raise money for the fight to cure Autism and support those who have Autism. I will be running and raising money in honor of my amazing nephew, Genaro Thomas Gamberdella.
For those of you that do not know Genaro or are just in need of an update he is a happy, amazing, 8 year old boy that lives in San Mateo, CA with his mom Liz, his dad Marc (my brother) and his two beautiful sisters Gianna and Lia. Genaro attends a school in Los Altos Hills and really enjoys it. Over the past year I have had more opportunities then normal to hang out with G and I really cherish the time I get to spend with him. The highlight of my time with him in 2006 was when he once again made the 3,000 mile trip to Boston to be there as I crossed the finish line (see picture above). Such a truly amazing experience that makes all the long training hours oh so worth it!!!
Even more worth it was the amazing amount of generosity I witnessed, by all of you, through my fundraising efforts. In 2006, we raised almost $12,000 (WOW!) to support the Autism Society of America. This year I am hoping to break that record. The number of children diagnosed each year with Autism is growing rapidly in this country and if there is anything I can do to contribute a small amount to finding its cure or helping the people that have a loved one afflicted by Autism lives any easier, I want to do it! And with your help we can do exactly that.
So this is the part where I ask for your generous donations. All of the money raised will go to support the the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism (info about the charity is on the left). Please remember anything you can donate to the cause, no matter how small, is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
This is how it works. You can make the donation on this page, by simply clicking the "Sponsor Me Now" button or if you do not want to donate online you can send me a hard check payable to the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism and send to Jennifer Gamberdella at 12 Ticknor Street, #1, Boston, MA, 02127.
In addition to this website I will be throwing a funraiser-benefit-raffle at Ned Devine's/Parris in Boston, MA on April 21st. As soon as I have more info I will put the the link to the evite on this website. If you would like to join in a night of fun, festivities and prizes please let me know!!!
Feel free to forward this link to ANYONE you feel may want to make a donation. It is as simple as cutting and pasting the address in the browser and sending along in an email. That person will then be able to access the page and make a donation.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns please do not hesitate to email me at jennyg46@hotmail.com or call me at 617-921-4208. In advance I would like to send my deepest thanks for taking the time to read this letter.
Best Regards,
Jenn Gamberdella
