26.2 Miles for HDSA
Dear Friends and Family,
Huntington's Disease (HD) is a devastating, hereditary, degenerative brain disorder for which there is, at present, no cure. HD slowly diminishes the affected individual's ability to walk, talk and reason. Eventually, the person with HD becomes totally dependent upon others for his or her care. Huntington's Disease profoundly affects the lives of entire families -- emotionally, socially and economically.
Huntington's Disease is the illness that took the lives of my mother, grandmother, aunt, and most recently, my heroic brother, Peter. Approximately, 30,000 Americans have Huntington's Disease and another 200,000 are at risk.
I am running in the 2013 ING New York City Marathon to raise awareness and money for those that suffer from this devastating illness.
I hope that you will sponsor me (and come out and cheer me on!) in my run on November 3rd. With your help, we can raise the money needed to help the lives of those effected by HD.
Thank you in advance for your support!
